Seeing Santa

Today we went to the mall to get Jacob's picture taken with Santa. Little did we know that it would be a two hour wait in line! Tim got in line and I took Jacob up to the food court and fed him lunch. Then we came down and stood in line and let Tim go get lunch. It was a pretty good plan sice we were in that line for a total of two hours! Jacob did really well until the end! He was ready to be out of the stroller so Tim took him out and walked around with him. You can click here to see all the picutes in Snapfish.

Forunately Jacob did not scream when we sat him on Santa's lap. I had my camera ready so I snapped picutes like crazy! We also bought the ones from the mall, but I got some god ones of him too so I could post them to the blog. Jacob was acting a little shy at first but hewarmed up pretty quickly.

The whole thing with Santa lasted less than five minutes! It just seems wrong to stand in line for two hours for five minutes! But I had to have a piture with Santa for Jacob's first Christmas. Next year we will just go a little sooner to avoid the long lines!

Fulcher Family Christmas Picture

I had my mother-in-law come over to help us take a family picute for our Christmas card this year. We must have snapped a 100 picutes to try and get a good one. This ended up being one that we used on the card. As you can imagine, it is hard to get an 11 monthold to sit still and get his piture taken.
We tried a couple of props in the process, but it worked out better in my head than in the pictuess.

The Santa hat? Forget it! Jacob wanted nothing to do with that hat being on his head! We could not take the picture fast enough! This is pretty much how all the Santa hast turned out! It was so funny.

I ended up cropping this one and used jsut his face for the Christmas card too. It was one of the only ones we got with the Santa Hat on his head. We got this picute by acident.

This was not a great picute, but I wanted to show you the huge wreath I made to match the Christmas tree. It turned out beautiful if I do say so myself! I had a lot of fun making it.

Yeah, this Santa hat picute did not turn out either!

Or this one....

Or this one! Like I said, out of a 100 pictues or so we only got a few really good ones! But that is all we needed to make our first family Christmas card! Merry Christmas everyone!

Getting Ready for Christmas

This year Chrismas has a whole new meaning with having a little one in the house. Everything is so exciting to Jacob, including getting ready for Christmas by decorating the house.

Jacob had to see everything. He was very curious about all the things we were taking out of boxes and putting up and out.

Tim put the Santa hat on Jacob. He was not all that sure about the Santa hat as you can see.

Jacob decided that the Sant hat looked better on Daddy!

But we tried again, and this time he was pretty funny! We played peek-a-boo with the Santa hat.

I think Jacob looks like one of Santa's helpers!

Of course in our house the dogs are always in the picture. We put this headband on the back of Max. He was not too sur aobut it!

This is a pretty pathetic face if I ever saw one! Poor Max!

It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed getting out of the house. Jacob looked so cute in his San Diego hat that we got him when we had our first family vaction.

Buscuit and Scraps were very sweet nad gentel with Jacob. He liked interacting with his puppy cousins.

Of course Jacob had to get some snuggle time with daddy too!

Happy Thanksgiving

This was Jacob's first Thanksgiving. We had it at my parents house which was nice for everyone as they are kind of in the middle of us all. I probably should have taken more picutes of the rest of the family, but that did not seem to happen. Here is the trurkey that the men folk cooked outside in the deep fryer, while the women folk cooked all the sides in the house.

Jacob tried some mashed potatoes and grandma Lynn's cornbread stuffing. He has been eating more and more big people food, but he is still eating some stage 3 baby food. We are lucky that he is a good eater.

Mmmmmmmmmm..........Sweet taters! Even though Mommy and Daddy both don't like sweet potatoes, we still let him try it. Right now he likes them!

After we ate we walked down to the park becasue it was such a beautiful day. Well the women folk and the kids went to the park, while the men folk stayed home and watched football.

Jacob really liked the swings! This was his first time in a big swing! As you can see, he had a blast!
Grandma Lynn wanted to take him down the slide so we made her go up there first.

She decided it might be too hard to get up there with Jacob in her arms and get down the slide in once piece. So she decided to come down off the slide.

So this is her "fake" I am coming out of the slide picture. I am probably going to get in trouble for posting these pictues, but I think they are funny and cute. My mom is a good sport and loves her grandbabies!

This is a cute picture of Jacob and his two cousins Jack and TJ. They love baby Jacob!

The smaller slide was a little easier for Grandma Lynn to manage!

This is Jack showing off his mad skills! He is a good climber!

Jacob had a great time playing in the grass. It was a new texture for him so he thought it was fun to pull out the grass and of couse try and eat it. Grandma Lynn was good at keeping him from eating the grass!
I love this picute of TJ who is now 13. This picture of him reminds me of my dad! My dad has always been an avid hiker and out doors kind of guy. We have many picutes of my dad up in trees much like this one.

I think this is super cute. TJ is looking at the camera, Jack is looking one way and Jacob is looking the othter! Just like a bunch of rotten boys!

In the Big BathTub

Well we decided it was time to move bath time upstairs into Jacob's bathroom. Bath's in the sink are a lot easier on our backs, but he was getting a little big for the sink and getting water everywhere when he splashed and played. I thoguth he might enjoying having a little more water and toys to play with in the big tub.
And I was right, Jacob loves bath time which is great. He thinks sitting on Mr. Alligater is pretty cool! You can still see the cotten in his ears from his ear surgery, so we still have to be carefull about getting water into them. But it was an easy transition from the sink to the tub. Someone is getting to be a big boy!

Bath Fun in the Sink

There is something so cute about a baby taking a bath in the sink! Of course it helps when you have a kid as cute as ours is!

Also it helps when mommy does funny things to the baby's hair! This is like a little oompa-loompa curl on top of his head. You can also see the cotton sticking out of his ears from his recent ear surgery. We had to be careful not to get water in his ears.

Jake was splashing around so much and having such a great time that I think it is time to move to the big bath tub! He seems to be getting a little bit big for the sink. Water was everywhere!

Jacob Get's Tubes

As many of you know, Jacob has had several ear infections starting when he was two months old. It has been something we have battled with for months and months. After having 7 ear infections, two of which were double the Dr finally let us get tubes. Today was surgery day and this is the only picture I took before the procedure. The procedure does not take long, but for the parents it feels like forever. Jacob was a bit out of it when when we went back to get him, but after we got him home and he slept off the rest of the anesthesia, he was fine. Thank goodness everything went well and we have not had any ear trouble since! The tubes were just what he needed!

Halloween Fun

So we looked and looked at costumes for Jacob and finally had to take him to try some on. It was pretty funny as many of the costumes the head piece was too small, or the body was too big, or the opposite. So I originally had a lion outfit picked out for little man Jake, but the frog costume fit - so he was our little frog prince.
We thought he looked adorable but I was not sure how long he would keep the head piece on. Especially since the red toung hit him in the middle of his forehead. He seemed to be OK so I snapped pictures like crazy.
Andrea was there with us to share in the Halloween fun and my sister and her family came over TJ decided he was too old to trick-or-treat this year, but Jack was ready for action!
So Jacob was our little frog prince and Jack was a Storm Trooper! It was very exciting!
Here is Jacob all ready to go in his stroller! He loves ridding around in his stroller no matter what time of the year it is.
Our first Halloween with little man Jake! We all hung out on our driveway and ordered pizza. then the men folk stayed at the house to hand out candy while the women folk took the kids out trick-or-treating. Jacob only made in around part of the block before he was ready for bed, but he had a great time. He is way too little for candy yet, so we just let his cousin Jack collect all the candy.
Of course in our house the dogs always seem to manage to get in the pictures. Once Jacob went to bed and everyone left, we had a good time trying on part of the costume on the dogs. This is Max the wonder frog!
This would be Cleo the frog...
And last but not least, Cesar the frog! The dogs were not nearly as amused as we were, but they survived!
