Chicks Dig Me!

I got this cool bib that says, "Chicks Dig Me".

I am not sure what that means, but mom told me not to worry...that I would figure it out when I am older.

In the mean time, she said it was my job to just hand out and look cute. It is a tough job, but someone has to do it!

This is me and my mommy. She is usually taking all the pictures, so she is not in a lot of them. I told her she needed to be on the family blog too, because she is after all my mommy and I love her!

Fathers Day!

Today was Father's Day! We had a really nice day hanging out together. I am really lucky to have such a great daddy.

We went to church and saw Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Sherry and then we all went to breakfast. After that we came home and gave daddy is cards and presents. I was really tired from all the excitement, so then I took a nap.

Jacob is 5 Months

I am now 5 months old and getting bigger and bigger every day. It is really hard work. Sometimes I fall asleep in my highchair when eating.

It is rough being 5 months. My mommy understands how hard it is, so she lets me sleep.

Cleo has to be wherever I am, even if that means she is on the bed with us.

She is really gentle and lets me grab her fur. It feels really cool!

My grandma Lynn got me this super cool tray to go on my bumbo seat. We went over to see mommy and daddy's friends Richard and Karen Simpson. Karen gave me some cool toys.

This ball has become one of my favorite things to play with. It is really cool being a baby, because everyone wants to give you stuff! I am super lucky!

Jacob And The Jumparoo!

Hi everyone! Here I am in one of my favorite things, the jumparoo! I am almost 5 months old now, and jumping is really cool!

Miss Jean gave this to me, and I just love it! I love all the colors and noise that it makes, plus I get to jump up and down, up and down!
This is one of mom's favorite pictures of me. She likes I look pretty cute in this one.

I would recommend the jumparoo to any kids out there - I think they would love it as much as I do.

Happy jumping everyone!

Montezumas Castle and Well

Recently I went to Montezuma's Castle and Well with Joni and the boys. The boys wanted me to bring baby Jake, but he is still too little for a day like this, it was kind of hot.

I can remember coming to Montezuma's Castle when I was a little girl. I remember being amazed at the structure and that people used to live here.
OK, so the boys were not as impressed as I was at their age, but they still thought it was pretty cool. These are my nephews TJ and Jack.

Here is my sister Joni with her boys. It was nice to hang out with them for the day and hike around and check things out.

After we saw Montezuma's Castle, we went to see the well. We looked up the site on the web before driving there and it appeared that we could hike down to the water, and there was a lot of shade for a picnic - sounds good right?

So my poor sister had packed this great picnic lunch in a cooler on wheels - and she drug that thing all the way to the top where we took these pictures of the well. Let's just say it was hotter than you know what, and there was not an easy hike down to the bottom, and no shade. So as we were deciding what to do next, my sisters youngest proclaimed in a very loud voice that he had to "poop" so we decided we needed to head back towards the car where the bathrooms were.
This was at the top of the well, and I just liked the contrast and thought it made an interesting picture.

Here is a picture of me with the boys. We ended up eating lunch in the car with the air conditioner on after Jack took care of his bathroom issues.

The trees around the Castle were really cool - they had all these colors in them so I had to take a picture. Even though it was really hot and we had to eat our lunch in the car, it was a really fun day and I enjoyed spending the time with my sister and her boys.

Hanging Out With Daddy

Jacob likes to hang out with Daddy in the morning. He sits on the counter in his bubmo chair and reads the paper with his dad.

Hey dad, can I have the sports section when you are done?

Or the comics?

We try to be quite so we don't wake mommy.

Jacob likes sitting his his chair on the coffee table if you sit next to him. It is a good place for him to watch his videos for a little while - thank goodness for Baby Einstein!

He is fascinated with all the shapes, and sounds and colors.

Jacob Finds His Thumb

Jacob found his thumb. It was the cutest thing to see him suck his thumb. We were hanging out watching TV and I looked down and he has his thumb in his mouth.

I had Tim run and go get the camera. It was such a sweet moment.

Jacob is getting better and better each day with eating his food. Here he is trying carrots.

He decided they were pretty yummy!

He still makes a mess but eating is a lot of fun.

First Time In The Highchair

So we tried out Jake's new highchair today. We started off with a bottle to see how things went.

He seemed to like sitting up more verses laying down all the time.

Jake thought it was pretty cool to be able to sit up and look around. He seemed happy to be able to see me right in front of him.

This is one of Grandma Lynn's favorite pictures. Jake looks like such a big boy here.

So we moved on from the bottle to peas - this was Jake's first time getting baby food other than rice cereal.

As you can see, he made a face. It was a new taste and texture for him so he was not quite sure what to do.

But gradually he did better and better with his green peas.

Even with a messy face, we still think he is the cutest baby ever!

First Ear Infection!

Jacob got his first ear infection - it was a double ear infection. We felt so bad for him, poor little guy.

Even though he had a double ear infection he was still a super sweet and happy baby. I guess it is good and it is bad - it is good that he hardly fussed and was still happy and sweet, but it was bad because we did not have a lot of warning. Thank goodness our pediatrician has weekend hours!
