Barf-o-Rama

You know it happens to every parent. The dreaded night that your child wakes up in the middle of the night barfing all over the place. Yep, that is what happened to us last night at 2:00am.
But once we got the little guy stripped and changed, he decided he needed to help daddy put the new sheets on.
He was a very good helper!
Once Jacob decided he was done helping, he thought he needed to cruise around and check everything out.
What was in his drawers was very interesting at 2:00am.
Also what was out in the loft. Honestly we thought that he barfed because he had eaten some dirt and dog food earlier that day. Boy were we in for a big surprise! Needless to say the barfing continues for several more days. We had to go to the doctors and the little man had the flu! Mommy was lucky enough to escape the dreaded flu, but daddy was not as lucky!

Bathtub Fun

When you are a toddler, bath time can be lot's of fun! Jacob loves taking a bath.
Tonight he was being especially silly! Making funny noises and being a show off!
This picture cracks me up! He was taking his floating toys and putting them in his mouth and on top of his head.
When they would fall off his head, this is the face he made. This is his "I don't know where it went," face. It is so cute!
We think we might need to get some more fun stuff for the tub. Perhaps some wind up boats or fish! Definitely something that moves around for this little man!

Carnival Fun

Our church has a big carnival once a year and we had the Roy family come over and go with us. Natalie (in this picture) and Isabel were very excited to go to the carnival with baby Jacob and ride the rides. This was the small train and was really the only ride that Jacob could go on. So Andrea rode with Jacob and Natalie and Isabel got their own train cars to ride in.
Here comes Izzy bringing up the back end of the train!
There was a small roller coaster and Natalie decided that she wanted to ride it. She was very brave and got up in the front car of the ride!

Jacob and Izzy were too little for the roller coaster so they waited for Natalie. Jacob was having a great time kicking back in his stroller watching all the people.
Izzy wanted Jacob to get out of the stroller and come watch Natalie on the roller coaster.
so off they went! I love this picture of them walking together!
There were some games that were geared towards the younger kids. This was a game that even Jacob could play. He was fascinated by the ducks going round and round in the little pool.
So we all encouraged him to pick his own duck. Natalie and Isabel did a great job in picking their ducks and getting a prize.
So finally Jacob decided he could do it it. He picked his duck and guess what he won?
His very own rubber ducky for the bathtub! He carried it around for a long time in his stroller!
Then it was time to get something to eat. Everyone did a great job eating their dinner so we got the kids some ice cream for desert.
Jacob like the strawberry ice cream. He had a little trouble eating it off the cone so we used a spoon.
Natalie and Izzy had some vanilla ice cream. It was yummy!
Jacob is at the age where he is wanted to do more stuff on his own. So he took a shot at eating the ice cream by him self. Things got a little messy but that is what baby wipes are for!
They had a booth that said Giant Wild Alive Rat! The biggest rat in the world. It was hilarious, so for a dollar I had to go find out. I will tell you it was the biggest rat I had ever seen! This thing was over a 100 pound! OK, it did not look all that ferocious like the guy was saying over the loud speaker, but it was pretty darn big!
I think the thing the kids liked the most was the giant slide. Andrea bless her heart, must have gone up and down this the slide 50 times! Here comes Izzy and her mommy Kelly, and Andrea and Natalie. They just loved it!

Whew! They made it to the bottom. Of course the first thing they said was, "can we go again"?
So they did. This time Izzy went with her daddy Brian.
Andrea and Tim wanted to take Jacob and I kept saying no. I thought he was too little and it would scare him. After a lot of poking and prodding, they talked me into it. I was really nervous that he would be screaming and crying. But noooooo! He make a big liar our of mommy! He LOVED it!
Here I come with Natalie! We were laughing and screaming all the way down.
Here come Andrea with Jacob again. He was holding the plastic spoon he had ice cream with. I did not know he had it in his hand until I saw him coming down the slide.
I was hoping they would not crash at the bottom and he would stab himself with the plastic spoon. Of course he didn't but hey, it is a moms job to worry about everything, right?!
Andrea was a good sport and Took Natalie on a few of the rides that the bigger kids could go on. Natalie was having a blast! Round and round they went! I Took Jacob on the little train one more time, and Natalie and Isabel rode one more of the smaller rides together before we went home. It was so much fun for the kids and we all enjoyed spending the time together.

Good Eater

We are very fortunate that Jacob is a good eater. WE have been letting him try most everything and so far so good.
Tonight's gourmet meal consisted of hamburger, macaroni and cheese, green peas and strawberries. Lately one of his most favorite foods is cucumbers. Who would have thought he would have liked cucumbers so much!
He has almost all his baby teeth in now. The only thing that is left are his 2 year molers (there are 4 of them) so he has 16 teeth right now. So he has been able to eat everything that we have let him try.

Cruising The Backyard

Jacob still loves hanging out in the backyard. We still go out and play with him every night when we get home from work. We are still able to go out there as it is not too hot yet.
Jacob has gotten better with his little slide. He used to need some help getting situated before he could slide down.
Now he can do it all by himself and he loves it! He has gotten better and better with his walking so now he is all over the place.
Of course all the dogs and the cat have to be out there with us. Caesar gave Jacob a little kiss as he passed by him.
Jacob is curious about everything as most toddlers are. He was trying to figure out the hose and how it worked. I imagine that pretty soon he will be pulling the hose off the reel.
We have to watch him as he likes to chuck rocks into the house. I don't know what it is with boys and rock throwing, but they sure do love it!

Red Socks

It is funny how kids grab onto something small that will entertain them for a long time. Today Jacob was waling around with his red socks. I had folded a pile of his laundry and it was sitting on the coffee table. He loves to take a bundle of socks apart. I know this as many mornings when I am changing his diaper and getting him dressed for the day, I will hand him a pair of socks and he immediately pulls them apart and giggles.
Jacob carried these red socks around for quite some time. He took them apart a few times and had me put them back together. It is so much fun to watch him and see what it is that will strike his interest!
But eventually he wanted to be picked up. This is his "mommy, please pick me up" face! How could one resist a face like this! Sweet baby boy!

Daddy's Birthday

Today is Tim's birthday so we let him open up his birthday gift from Jacob. We are doing a family celebration this weekend, so that is when Tim will get the rest of his presents. Jacob was helping daddy read his cards.
Come on dad, it is time to open your present! Hurry up!

Daddy got a 10 year anniversary D-back shirt and a D-back coosie, and then a D-back hat for Jacob to wear so he can match daddy on game day.

Daddy had Jacob try on his new hat so we could see how good it looked.

But Jacob was more interested in playing with the phone at this particular moment. We have to watch him if he gets a hold of the phone. He almost called Auntie Joni and Uncle Chris one morning at about 6:30am. I am not sure they would think it was as funny as we would!

We finally got a decent picture of Jacob with his new D-back hat! Such a handsome guy! It is funny when you have a kid how every event ends up being about them, even when it is something like mommy or daddy's birthday!
