Halloween Fun

So we looked and looked at costumes for Jacob and finally had to take him to try some on. It was pretty funny as many of the costumes the head piece was too small, or the body was too big, or the opposite. So I originally had a lion outfit picked out for little man Jake, but the frog costume fit - so he was our little frog prince.
We thought he looked adorable but I was not sure how long he would keep the head piece on. Especially since the red toung hit him in the middle of his forehead. He seemed to be OK so I snapped pictures like crazy.
Andrea was there with us to share in the Halloween fun and my sister and her family came over TJ decided he was too old to trick-or-treat this year, but Jack was ready for action!
So Jacob was our little frog prince and Jack was a Storm Trooper! It was very exciting!
Here is Jacob all ready to go in his stroller! He loves ridding around in his stroller no matter what time of the year it is.
Our first Halloween with little man Jake! We all hung out on our driveway and ordered pizza. then the men folk stayed at the house to hand out candy while the women folk took the kids out trick-or-treating. Jacob only made in around part of the block before he was ready for bed, but he had a great time. He is way too little for candy yet, so we just let his cousin Jack collect all the candy.
Of course in our house the dogs always seem to manage to get in the pictures. Once Jacob went to bed and everyone left, we had a good time trying on part of the costume on the dogs. This is Max the wonder frog!
This would be Cleo the frog...
And last but not least, Cesar the frog! The dogs were not nearly as amused as we were, but they survived!

First Time Eating Hamburger

Tonight we gave Jacob hamburger for the first time. He has been eating chicken nuggets for a while now so it was time for something new.
He had no problem with the hamburger as you can see. He seems to be happier when he can pick up the pieces and feed himself.

I love this little face he makes when he is eating. I guess it can't be helped since he only has front teeth right now.

A New Speed Racer

Jacob got to big for his old speed racer, so we had to go and get him a new one.
He liked this one better as it has more stuff to play with. He is a maniac in it! Chasing the dogs all over the place.

Tim and I actually move the furniture around so he has more room to zoom around in his speed racer. It is hysterical watching Jacob chase the dogs.

Roses, Roses and More Roses

I took a cake decorating class and this was my final cake - the day we made roses.
I need to keep practicing, but I think this one turned out OK for my first attempt at roses.

Chicken Nuggets & Green Beans

We have started feeding Jacob "big people" food verses baby food. He totally digs chicken nuggets and green beans. I think these are two of his favorite things.
Sometimes it is just as much about playing with the food as it is eating he food. But that is just part of the fun!

Of course the dogs love it when Jacob pitches food over the side of his tray! They think of Jacob as a never ending food source!

San Diego Family Vacation

We went on our first family vacation this year to San Diego. Jacob was about 9 months old so we figured we would give it a try and see how it went. We went with our dear friends Kelly and Brian and their girls (Natalie and Isabel) and also John and Dawn. We all stayed at the Beach Cottages. You can click here to see all the picutes.
This was our first day there. Jacob was pretty happy to be out of the car. He loved strolling up and down the boardwalk in his stroller. He just took in all the sights and sounds.

We had a great time hanging out, ordering pizza and watching the game. The Diamondbacks were in the play offs, so we were watching baseball together. It was still around 100 degrees in Arizona, so it was nice to have some cooler weather.

This is miss Natalie. She and her sister Isabel enjoyed having baby Jacob on "bacation" with them. They liked to come and visit our hotel room which they called our house.

This is Isabel hanging out with uncle Tim or "busy Izzy" as we call her.

I love this picture of Isabel. She took Jacob's hat and put it on. She loves hats! I just though this was super cute and so Izzy!
One of our days in San Diego we went to the Birch Aquarium. It was just the right size for little man Jake. He is still napping two times a day, so a big outing is kind of tough. This was perfect. Jacob was fascinated by all the fish.
I forgot the name of this fish, but it is the ones you see out at Catalina Island. They are so bright!
I had a hard time getting good pictures of the fish because of the glare off of the glass. But I stepped to the side and managed to get a couple of good ones.
As you can imagine with all the bright colors of the fish, Jacob had a good time looking at everything.
Of course once again, I am not in any of the pictures as I am busy taking them. This is big sister Andrea, little man Jake and Tim at the aquarium.
This is Jacob one night before we went out to dinner. He was such a good baby on the trip and had such a great time. He was always happy and smiling.
This was one morning before we went for a walk on the boardwalk to get coffee. He looks like such a little dude in this picture. It was one of my favorites pictures of Jacob.
I know you are saying, were are the beach pictures. This is Jacob on the beach. He was fascinated by all the sights, sounds and of course the sand. Lot's and lot's of sand!

This was Jacob attacking the beach mat. He thought it was pretty fun to grab it and fling it over his head.
Of course after a day on the beach, we had to have a bath as the sand got everywhere! The sinks in San Diego were smaller than the ones at home, but we managed. We really had a great time on our first family vacation together and we were so grateful to have such great friends to share this time with.
