Mama's Got A New Do

I got a new hair do this past Friday. I can't even remeber when my hair was not super long - I know it has been long at least since the 7th grade. This is not the best quality pictues as I took it of myself with my camera phone - but you get the idea! It was time for a change and I have gotten a lot of compliments on the new look. Sometimes you just gotta shake things up a bit!

Ice Cream Independance

Just like his daddy, Jacob LOVES ice cream! He is definitely sporting his independence and does not want anyone to feed him anymore – he is a big boy after all!

We went to the mall to run a few errands and stopped at the food court for lunch. Daddy and Jake got an ice cream cone for desert and Jake went to townJake did pretty good all by himself - but mommy was there to assist with a wipe at the end! What's the fun if you can make a mess, right?!

Jake's Choice

Today was one of those days when the little man wanted to pick his own outfit. He was so proud of this combination! Although I have nice clothes for him to wear and like to have everything mach - you have to pick your battles and this is just not the hill to die on!
I think it is good for kids to be able to sport their own independence. So what if everything does not match completely - Jake was happy and it made for a smooth transition to daycare this morning! He is a whole mess of cuteness anyway! Who cares what is on his body when you see that sweet little face!

Walking His Own Path

Today Jacob insisted on dressing himself. It is funny how we want our kids to be perfect - to look nice. I have all these really cute outfits for Jacob, but it does not really matter. What matters is giving him the confidence to make the decisions he can make at this age and to praise him for those decisions.
He was so proud of picking out this outfit. I have to say that this one is better than most! But regardless of what he is wearing on the outside, it is what we are building on the inside that counts!

Tim's Birthday

Today is Tim's birthday. We started the day off with cookies for breakfast! Jacob thought that was pretty cool and dived right into the cookies!
Of course he took a pause to help daddy open up his presents and cards.
Daddy got lot's of nice clothes and a super cool picture for the game room from Jackie and Derek.
Throwing the paper around is a lot of fun when you are a little guy! Happy birthday daddy!

Easter Afternoon

Jacob was super excited in the afternoon. His Gammy, Grandpa, Auntie Joni, Uncle Chris and cousins TJ and Jack were coming over to hide Easter eggs with him.

The kids had a great time looking for and finding eggs!
We hid them all over the back yard - and remembered to count them so as to not have a rouge egg out there somewhere!
Jackson was super cute and helped Jacob find eggs.
We had to remind him to let his little cousin find the "easy" ones. It is funny as all the boys in our family are a bit competitive no matter what the age.
Jacob had a blast and we had so much fun just having the family over. It was a beautiful day outside and we really enjoyed the time together.

Easter Morning

Today was Easter and we had a great time watching Jacob with his Easter Basket. It was very exciting having the Easter Bunny visit our house!
Of course Jacob was thrilled to have some candy first thing in the morning!
Although he was equally as excited to get his new movie "Bolt".
And his most favorite Easter gift was his new "dirt bike" as he calls it. His day care provider has one like this at her house and Jacob loves it. So he was pretty excited to have one of his own!

After a little bit of candy, dirt bike racing and watching Bolt - he had to do some cruising around on his other bike. This was after stripping off his jammies.
