I decided some time ago to run the PF Chang's 1/2 marathon in January of 2008. So having never run in an event before I decided to try this 5K that was close to the house and it supported Autism. We have some good friends and their twins have
autism. Even though they have moved to New Zealand - I still felt like I was supporting them from afar. They always said how amazing the support they got in in AZ was for their kids.
It was a lot of fun coming up to the finish line and seeing my two guys there cheering me on! I ran over and scooped up Jacob and stopping running just short of the finish line! Whoops! Everyone around me was yelling, "Go! Go! Run to the finish line!" I did and then had to laugh! One lady said to me that it was in true "mom fashion" that I forgot all about the finish line when I saw my little guy!
It was a beautiful day and Jacob got to see the fire trucks, and the police cars, and he got some great snacks too! I felt great after my run and am looking foward to many more!
